M&C Ltd. is seeking a qualified Accountant to join our Finance team and support the Divisional Financial Controller in managing financial operations, reporting, and internal controls. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making, lead a team, and ensure financial integrity across departments in a fast-paced, environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial reporting and management accounting - preparation of management accounts, financial statements and related reports.

  • Budgeting and strategic planning - preparation of annual budgets which support business strategies.

  • Departmental accounting support for M&C Shipping- preparation of management accounts and related reports.

  • Accounts payable and receivable oversight - the payment of statutory payments, subledger reconciliations and efficient management of receivables and payables.

  • Internal audit and statutory compliance - the regular review of systems and procedures to ensure efficiency, support of the external audit.

  • Team supervision and development - there is full compliance with company performance management systems, the implementation of appropriate training and coaching to improve employee performance.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A professional accounting designation (ACCA, CGA).

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a computerized accounting environment, preferably in a supervisory role.

  • Proven experience in finance management with strong technical knowledge with a focus on streamlining accounting processes. 

  • Strong knowledge of accounting and regulatory standards.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and build successful teams.

  • Experience in budgeting, preparation of financial statements and management accounting.

  • Experience utilizing performance management to drive performance to achieve business goals.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
