The Saint Lucia Development Bank is seeking to recruit a Relationship Specialist.
Skills & Core Competencies Required:
Understanding of Saint Lucia’s legal framework, particularly with respect to credit.
Economic financial and business analysis.
Initiative and strong business customer service focus.
Strong operational and enterprise risk assessment and management skills.
Strong ethical standards and understanding of the principles of corporate governance.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interface with personnel at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to effectively manage/coordinate simultaneous projects, and successfully prioritize multiple tasks with good judgment.
Sales driven with corporate banking experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office functions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reviewing proposals submitted to the Bank for financing by carrying out relevant financial, economic and technical analysis to ensure that loans meet established risk profiles and standards.
Arranging for credit risk management and timely interventions, including the conduct of site visits, the provision of technical advice to clients and preparing relevant reports.
Interviewing prospective clients of the Bank requiring credit and technical assistance and conducting site visits as necessary.
Preparing appraisal reports and recommending terms and appropriate controls.
Monitor implementation of projects and provide technical assistance.
Visiting and preparing follow-up reports on ongoing projects financed by the Bank.
Following-up on repayment arrangements and monitoring projects funded by the Bank to ensure that they continue to meet established credit risk and portfolio quality standards.
Assisting in developing models of credit information to predict patterns and trends.
Staying informed about the legal, compliance and market-risk-related issues involved in the approval of credit.
Contacting customers to secure the release of financial data and/or security as deemed necessary.
Promoting the products and services of the Bank and being part of a team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Banking, Economics, or Business Management.
Training and experience in project appraisal and implementation or experience in project finance in a financial institution.
