Title: People and Performance Manager
Purpose: To lead the people strategy and performance culture across multiple retail locations, ensuring high employee engagement, operational excellence, and sustainable business results.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
People Management & Development
Partner with Retail Managers to recruit, select, and retain top talent across all locations.
Design and oversee onboarding programs to ensure a consistent, high-quality induction experience.
Lead performance review cycles, ensuring goal alignment and constructive feedback.
Identify training needs and coordinate skill development and leadership programs.
Coach store leaders on people management, conflict resolution, and team engagement.
Performance & Operational Excellence
Collaborate with retail leadership to set and track performance KPIs for stores and teams.
Review sales, customer service, and productivity data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop action plans with store managers to address underperformance or capitalize on strengths.
Recognize and reward high-performing teams to encourage a culture of excellence.
Employee Engagement & Culture
Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture across all locations.
Lead employee engagement initiatives to boost morale, retention, and productivity.
Conduct regular store visits to maintain visibility, build trust, and gather feedback.
Ensure consistent application of company values, policies, and standards.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
Maintain accurate HR records for all employees.
Manage sensitive employee relations cases with confidentiality and professionalism.
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
Proven experience in multi-site retail HR or people management.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to analyze performance metrics and translate them into actionable plans.
High organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities across multiple locations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field.
3+ years’ experience in retail HR or multi-site people management.
Knowledge of labor laws and retail operations best practices.
HR certification (CIPD, SHRM, etc.) is an asset.
