Job Summary:
The Senior Accounts Manager will oversee the financial operations of the group, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective financial management. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of financial principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Timely preparation and analysis of revenue reports.
Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Monitor performance against budgets and report variances.
Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed. Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
Prepare management accounts and special financial reports.
Audit and Compliance:
Ensure audit preparedness at all times.
Ensure adherence to International Accounting Standards.
Institute and maintain robust systems of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
Accounts Management:
Oversee tasks handled by accounts clerks regarding receivables and payables.
Manage intercompany transactions and maintain the fixed assets register.
Ensure all statutory obligations (VAT, PAYE, NIC) are met.
Review payroll for approval by Directors.
Supervision and Mentoring:
Introduce new team members to the accounts department's culture, values, financial systems, and processes.
Mentor, coach, direct, and supervise accounts clerks and team members from other departments.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate financial performance and insights to directors, relevant managers, supervisors, general staff body and other relevant stakeholders.
Technical Skills, Experience, Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounts and Finance and at least second level ACCA.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proven leadership skills with experience in a managerial position.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Full knowledge of Financial Accounting Systems. Experience with Microsoft Business Central would be an asset.
Understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Effective negotiating skills.
Advanced math skills and ability to interpret financial documents.
Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and maintain focus.
