Bank of Saint Lucia Limited is a dynamic and professional financial services institution that is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the following position of: SME Officer


Duties include but not limited to:

  • Proactively and persuasively sell products to customers.

  • Review assigned customer portfolio and contact all customers within portfolio at least bi-annually.

  • Document SME customers’ unmet needs, identify the profile of the prospect and capture his/her information while presenting alternative value propositions and to provide offers depending on the business customer’s profile.

  • Visit customer’s business at least bi-annually and record visit and outcome through call report which is to be maintained in customer’s file.

  • Compile data on loan applications and report to the direct supervisor on a weekly basis.

  • Analyze financial statements to determine eligibility for requested credit facilities.

  • Communicate and record the SME customer’s loan decision, e.g., record non-approvals, product delivery, inform the SME customer response time, negotiate terms and rates (when applicable), notify the SME customer of the availability of the product/service, register products in the system and request SME customer’s information.

  • Comply with the Bank’s operational risk and compliance policies.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Finance, or Business Administration.

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ related experience as a Lending Officer.

  • Demonstrated experience in engaging SME clients.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial statements analysis.

  • Medium level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and banking software.

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and be a registered owner of a vehicle.

  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity in carrying out assignments.
