Boslil Bank Limited is currently seeking applications for suitably qualified persons to fill the following position:
TEMPORARY COMPLIANCE SUPERVISOR
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
To ensure that Boslil Bank Limited and its employees are in compliance with all internal and external regulations of the banking industry, including internal policies and procedures, international and local legislation, prudential guidelines and best practices.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage FIA ‘Requests for information’, registering requests, gathering quality information and preparing responses.
Identify and draft Suspicious Activity Reports, for review by the Head of Compliance.
Assist with the preparation of the annual AML Training program, as necessary, coordinating with other Compliance Team members.
Manage the batch screening process and ensuring that alerts are assessed in a timely manner.
Manage trigger events review e.g. changes in account stakeholders, matches found on clients.
Support the strengthening of Bank’s Compliance culture using various communicative methods and tools.
Assist the Head of Compliance in ensuring that all staff fully comply with the Money Laundering Prevention Act and the various Anti-Money Laundering Guidelines.
Ensure non-compliance issues/concerns observed are shared promptly (formally or informally) with the Head of Compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
BSc. Degree in Banking/Finance/Business from an accredited college or university, (3) three years’ international financial services and banking/financial services experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
International exposure and an understanding of inter national business cultures will be an asset.
Professional certification in Compliance – from either the ICA, or, CAMS.
Knowledge of, or ,practical experience in Regulatory Risk Management would be an asset.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Monitor the effectiveness of current policies and procedures relative to changing industry risks (locally, regionally, internationally).
Conduct quarterly Compliance Risks Assessments (‘Spot Checks’) and resultant reports, to ensure adherence with internal Compliance Policies and Procedures and Controls, applicable Regulatory Guidelines and Legislation.
Assist the Head of Compliance in communication with the Internal and External Audit and work plan of the Department.
Perform second review on account applications by ensuring the risks identified are researched, and Boslil Bank’s exposure is minimized. Ensure suitable risks-ratings are as signed.
Assist the Compliance Team in building and monitoring the Compliance Risk Management framework and the Risk Register of the Bank, ensuring adherence to existing policies and procedures, and contributing to adequate changes to minimize emerging risks.
