The Saint Lucia Development Bank is seeking to recruit a Credit Risk Analyst on a fixed term contractual basis.
Skills & Core Competencies Required:
Risk assessment and mitigation techniques.
Economic, financial, industry and business analysis.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and word-processing computer applications.
Knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet software.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interface with personnel at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to effectively manage/coordinate simultaneous projects, and successfully prioritize multiple tasks with good judgment.
Initiative and a strong customer service focus.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reviewing proposals submitted to the Bank for financing by carrying out relevant financial, economic and technical analyses to ensure that loans meet established risk profile and standards.
In conjunction with Relationship Specialists, arranging for credit risk management interventions, including the conduct of site visits, the provision of technical advice to clients and preparing relevant reports.
Following-up on repayment arrangements and monitoring projects funded by the Bank to ensure that they continue to meet established credit risk and portfolio quality standards.
Assisting in developing models of credit information to predict patterns and trends.
Staying informed about the legal, compliance and market-risk-related issues involved in the approval of credit.
Liaising with other staff within the Bank, including Relationship Specialists and Accounts Officers in the carrying out of your duties.
Reviewing existing customers’ credit and following up with customers, Relationship Specialists, Accounts Officers and sources of repayments, regarding delinquency.
Contacting customers to secure the release of financial data and/or security as deemed necessary.
Maintaining the weekly credit reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management or Administration.
Training and experience in project appraisal and implementation or experience in project finance in a financial institution would be an asset.
