Job Summary:
As an Operations and Logistics Manager at True Value Building & Hardware Supplies Ltd. and the group of companies, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our operations. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing various aspects of the supply chain, logistics, and construction-related activities to drive productivity and maximize customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Management:
Manage the logistics of receiving items and shipments, including communication with brokers, customs officials, SLASPA (Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority), truckers, and overseeing activities at the docks as needed.
Coordinate with the relevant departments on identifying and liquidating damaged items.
Manage and oversee the daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness within the relevant departments. The lumber bay, storage bay, warehouse and basement fall under the Operations Manager’s supervision.
Provide logistics, operations and maintenance support to the group of companies.
Work with the receiving and inventory management department to ensure smooth operations.
Oversee inventory control processes to ensure accurate stock levels and timely replenishment of supplies.
Security and Safety:
Implement and maintain security protocols for the facility and warehouse.
Delivery Operations:
Manage the delivery process and supervise the delivery team.
Ensure efficient and timely delivery services.
Facility Maintenance:
Oversee maintenance of the facilities and equipment, including but not limited to generators, AC units, trucks, and forklifts.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the lumber bay, storage bay, basement and warehouse.
Institute and promote effective policies geared at protecting inventory resources.
Team Management:
Delegate tasks and ensure team productivity.
Ensure proper tallying of orders and secure the building after closing hours.
Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team to achieve operational excellence.
Efficiency and Customer Service:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to streamline operations.
Address customer issues proactively and ensure excellent customer service.
Reporting:
Prepare and present operational reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Requirements and Skills:
Valid driver’s license. Experience operating a forklift would be an asset.
Ability to manage operations and logistics effectively.
Experience as a strong leader with team management skills.
Positive attitude and ability to promote teamwork within the company.
Detail-oriented and persistent in following up on tasks and proposals.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
