Qualified Pharmacist, to join VE Medical from April 2023. Applicants must be fully qualified, to comply with the St. Lucia Pharmacy Council requirements. A Pharmacy degree, plus two years experience (if non national) required for registration.
The newly opening VE Medical Pharmacy, is an integral part of a new medical/surgical facility, at Orange Grove Plaza, Bois D’Orange.
The Pharmacist will supervise staff, and ensure all guidelines are adhered to in the dispensing of medications.
Over the counter medications will be limited to medical specializations within the medical facility. The Pharmacist will work closely with the various doctors to develop effective over the counter, non prescription options for patients. All Prescription medications will be fully available for dispensing.
The job entails
Dispensing and checking compatible use prescription medicines to the public, and that doses are fully labelled and correctly supplied, including information on the side affects of any drugs, or drug combined interactions.
Keeping a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes.
Keeping fully up to date with new drugs, their usage and sourcing suppliers.
Supervising purchase and inventory of all Pharmacy stock
Developing a relationship with doctors about prescription options.
As the VE Medical pharmacy is part of a medical facility with two operating theatres, and various treatment clinics, including ophthalmology, dermatology, aesthetics, diabetes the pharmacist will work closely with the on site doctors for the supply of in surgery and prescription medications
Managing, supervising and training pharmacy support staff.
Developing a pharmacy counseling service including specialist health checks such blood pressure and diabetes.
