Job Summary


NIPRO is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and coordinate activities related to the maintenance and repair of all physical structures and building services across our facilities. This role is crucial for ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently.


Key Responsibilities


As the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, your duties will include:


  • Establishing priorities, goals, and expectations to prepare action strategies and plans with the maintenance team.

  • Participating in the preparation and administration of the facility maintenance budget.

  • Coordinating all service requests and maintenance services using computerized maintenance management software, with help from the Maintenance Planner and Customer Service Representative.

  • Developing schedules and methods for providing quality facility maintenance services, utilizing both maintenance personnel and external contractors.

  • Organizing and reviewing preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for all facilities and equipment.

  • Supervising and controlling supplies, tools, and equipment needed for the department.

  • Assisting in the timely preparation of contracts, requests for proposals (RFPs), and reports related to internal and external activities within the department, guided by company procedures and policies.

  • Evaluating and supervising all work performed by external contractors.

  • Monitoring all work done by maintenance personnel and providing regular performance feedback.

  • Assisting in the monthly inspection of all facilities maintained by NIPRO.

  • Processing and reconciling all work orders promptly.

  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.


Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities


To excel in this role, you should possess:


  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance work order systems and techniques for preventive and corrective maintenance scheduling.

  • Understanding of general facilities inspection principles, methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in building repair and maintenance.

  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical commercial installations, as well as potable water storage and distribution systems.

  • The ability to interpret and work from drawings.

  • Strong supervisory skills, including problem-solving, planning, delegation, and decision-making.

  • Proficiency in using the MS Office Suite and other maintenance software.

  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.

  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding information acquired during work activities.

  • A willingness to take advantage of special job training and work experience opportunities provided by NIPRO.

  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.

  • Adherence to administrative policies and general conditions applicable to all NIPRO staff.

  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and plan work effectively to achieve corporate goals and objectives.

  • The ability to work accurately and quickly to meet operational deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience


To qualify for this position, you should have:


  • An Undergraduate Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or an equivalent field, along with four (4) years of working experience in Facilities Maintenance, two (2) of which should be at a Supervisory Level; or

  • An Associate’s Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Installation, Air Conditioning Installation, or Mechanical Engineering, with six (6) years of working experience in Facilities Maintenance, four (4) of which should be at a supervisory level.

  • Project management certification is an asset.

  • A valid Driver’s License.
